Hey crew! Here is a small excerpt from a book I'm reading called "Refuel" by Doug Fields. The book focuses on what we need to do as Christians to recharge ourselves and not burn out. I'm really digging it! Here is a bit:
"It sounds too simple. Just STOP! This action is a literal invitation to bring to a halt your mind's and body's movements, to momentarily ignore responsibilities and to do lists. It doesn't have to be a long stop...just stop for 5 minutes. Or three. Or one. Or thirty seconds. Thats right....seconds! I want you to learn to create pauses in your day in order to refuel your soul. Just as you don't refuel your car while it's in motion, you can't refill your soul while you're in a flurry of activity. Being spiritually refilled recquires you to stop.
Can you personally relate to any of the following words:
Busy
Rushed
Empty
Stressed
Fatigued
Overloaded
Pause for a minute to consider these words in your life. Pick the one (or more if you want) that you can most identify with."
We'll go thru this at group and start to break it down. Feel free to shoot out a comment if you like. Looking forward to seeing you all again Thursday! God bless-Davy
